Introducing...

A little about myself:

I'm a student, in her final year at university so considering it's nearing the end of semester, I probably haven't chosen the best time to start this thing. It's not as though I need extra tools for procrastination!
When it comes to weddings I am all about the detail. Having said that, I recently stumbled across this little gem: A Practical Wedding and I love this site. It's a good tool for any bride-to-be, I think, to help keep them grounded. I may not be as über feminist as some of these women, but it's very real, and I like that. On this note, even though I may tag posts with the label "MY wedding", I actually mean "OUR wedding". It is MY blog, but I am NOT one of those girls who flies off in a whirlwind of wedding magazines and grand concepts and her poor groom is lucky to even know where he's meant to be on the day, let alone be included in any of the choices his partner makes. I am, however, the more creative of the two in our relationship (did I mention I love details?). I care more about some of this stuff than my partner does. That's why I have this blog in the first place. But the wedding is OURS, every choice in that wedding will be OURS, and more importantly, it is a day for the purpose of celebrating OUR marriage. Just thought I should clear that one up before I got started. Til next time!

And so it begins...

Here's my story (a very brief version of it).
I'm a girl, in a committed relationship, with a man. This man of mine can only take so many hours of conversations about our upcoming wedding. Especially considering this wedding won't be happening for another three years. So to save my partner's sanity and to prevent myself from exploding, I decided to start this blog. This is the place I will come to throw around ideas, drool over concepts that I could never get away with myself; it will be a sort of mind-map for me when it comes to wedding planning. I'll probably use this blog to vent frustrations, share inspiration and just talk about life. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to get followers. If I don't, then it will be purely for me. If I do, I'll be very happy to use this as a spring-board for conversations, input and advice.
So here goes, a blog about a wedding...
